What’s New

Landfill

DSR has implemented the Landfill Closure Initiative and Pinelands Landfill Closure Initiative in New Jersey. The goal of these initiatives is to educate landfill stakeholders regarding the dynamics of landfill waste and leachate stabilization to reduce closure and post-closure costs. By reducing remedial costs, opportunities for redevelopment of former landfill sites are strongly enhanced.

DSR promotes the use of innovative closure methods utilizing alternative cover systems, enhanced wildlife habitat, passive and active recreational amenities, and renewable energy generation through our Turn Brown to Green™ (TB2G™) model.

Brownfield Redevelopment

At its core, a Brownfield site is real estate. Understanding the real estate development process during remediation is paramount to making brownfield projects viable.  Our team of remediation and redevelopment experts can navigate the complexities of these projects to bring projects to completion on schedule and within budget.

DSR has experience with the full spectrum of contaminated properties, from small brownfields and municipal landfills to Superfund sites.  Our home, New Jersey, has some of the most stringent environmental remediation requirements in the Country but, has shown a strong commitment to brownfield redevelopment.  A courtesy copy of the NJ Brownfield and Contaminated Site Remediation Act, N.J.S.A. 58:10B-1 et seq. is available at:
http://www.nj.gov/dep/srp/regs/statutes/bcsra.pdf.

The US Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA) also encourages appropriate remediation and redevelopment of Superfund sites.   As a tool, the EPA has prepared guidelines for determination of Ready for Reuse (RfR).  Information can be found at:

Whether your Site is a small brownfield site or a large Superfund site, state-lead or federal, DSR is interested.
